Libčice Residence

The apartment building is located in the eastern part of Libčice nad Vltavou, on Letecká Street, and represents the first completed project of the Letka residential complex. The design responds to the character of the town, whose industrial past has significantly influenced its appearance.The building comprises four above-ground floors and contains ten residential units, most of which have a 2+kk layout, as requested by the investor. The investor, being a native of Libčice, reflects a personal connection to the project, emphasizing quality and meticulous craftsmanship. The building's form is designed with minimalism in mind, considering the plot’s shape and the urban possibilities of the locality. It respects the street line and the height of the surrounding development. The aim is not to dominate but to complement the area sensitively and support its development with modern architecture that harmonizes with the industrial environment. This approach is evident not only in the building’s volume and shape but also in the restrained choice of materials. The structure is framed by a concrete plinth and clad in brick slips, which reference the town's industrial heritage while visually connecting it with nearby structures such as the historic coal mill. The façade is complemented by chic glass blocks and metal railings on cantilevered concrete balconies, which protrude irregularly from the building's mass. These intentionally disrupt the formal grid arrangement, adding dynamism and emphasizing the relationship between various parts of the structure.
